Atlanta Area Real Estate Information The metro Atlanta real estate market is a bit different than other parts of the country in that overall, we're not doing bad during this slump. Since Atlanta didn't have the crazy rise in prices we haven't had the precipitous drop. That said, the Atlanta real estate market is a study in "micro markets". Areas like Marietta, Alpharetta, Roswell and Woodstock are quite different than areas like Peachtree City, Stone Mountain and Douglasville. Even in specific areas, you will see fluctuations in rates of appreciation/depreciation, days on market, sale to list price ratios, and number of sales/listings. All real estate is local and this is true for Atlanta, an area with no real boundaries and one that continues to spread in all directions. Use the information available to you here and on the net, but when it comes time to make a firm decision about buying or selling a home, give us a call. We'll review things and offer candid opinions that are based upon current information and years and years of experience. Again, take what the internet gives you with a grain of salt! The Atlanta Journal Constitution isn't much as far as a newspaper, but it does have a rather well organized real estate section. I suggest in addition to the resources on this site that you have a look at their communities section: Atlanta Journal communities section
Have a look at this map - it's the best graphic indicator of real estate trends in Atlanta:
